If I was not concerned with my personal branding, this area would be taken up with a definition of personal branding taken straight from the internet. But alas, I am that person. I have been branded.
Personal branding is like getting friendly with your neighbors after moving into a new neighborhood. It takes time. Time spent portraying someone you might not be. Trying to get on the good side of the people surrounding you. Even if you choose not to portray yourself as something you might not be; as long as you’re yourself and try not to stray, that’s who they will see you as. Personal branding is human behavior under a microscope. People who don’t “brand” themselves proficiently are the people who have no real interaction with other humans. On the other hand, if someone lets everyone in to who they really are; they will be able to bond with others on a higher level.
With that being said. I feel that branding yourself online will work in just the same way as it does in real life. If you let people know who you are and stick to that, there’s no goin’ wrong.
